Getting more blog traffic with BlogRush

We’re trying out BlogRush to see if it generates more traffic and links to this blog. (Note that this is a referral link.)

BlogRush is an interesting little tool that shows headlines from “related” blog posts alongside your own blog. All you need to do is sign up for an account and insert a little snippet of JavaScript code. In exchange for showing links to others’ blogs, you’ll show up on other participating sites. Your blog’s exposure is commensurate with the number of views of your blog as well as those other blogs that your refer (and he blogs they refer, etc.). In other words, the more you convince others to use it, the better it will do at getting new visitors to your blog.

Does it sound a bit like an MLM? It does to us too, but it’s free and appears to have no downsides other than possibly leading some visitors away from your site. This problem is easily offset if it provides a greater number of new visitors.
