Google Analytics Goals with Full Domains
I recently have been creating Google Analytics goals for a client whose profile is set up to show full domains. The goals corresponded to particular pages, for which the instructions say to exclude the domain. Doing so will not allow the goals to fire. Instead include the full domain as it appears in the All Pages report.
Example: Suppose you want to setup a goal based upon people arriving at www.yoursite.com/thankyou.htm. Normally you’d simply specify the goal location as “/thankyou.htm”. Google Analytics won’t find this though if you’re using filters to add the full domain, so you instead you’ll need to put in “www.yoursite.com/thankyou.htm”.
Do not include either “http://” or “https://”. Also make sure to match the subdomain as it appears in the All Pages report (usually “www”).
